Songless is a music-guessing game like Heardle where you listen to a very short clip and try to guess the song. The cool thing about this game is that it purposely gives you very little information at the beginning, then if you guess wrong or skip it will show you more of the track.
Rather than relying on lyrics or album art, Songless tests your musical memory and ability to recognize melodies. Sometimes, just a drum beat, a few notes, or a brief vocal snippet is enough for a player to recognize a familiar song.
At the beginning of a round you hear a very short intro of the mystery song. Your mission is to guess the song title and artist right from what you hear.
If you aren't sure, you can make a guess or skip to unlock more audio. Incorrect guesses or skips extend the audio clip, providing additional clues for the next attempt.
In the current version of Songless, some modes begin with an audio clip lasting only about 0.1 seconds, then progressively increase to 0.5 seconds, 1 second, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, and finally the full song. Players have a maximum of six guesses for the daily challenge.
Songless doesn't simply ask if you know the song; it also tests how quickly you can recognize it.
Recognizing and correctly identifying a song from the very first audio clip is incredibly satisfying. Conversely, a familiar song with a tricky intro might require you to wait a few extra seconds before the answer clicks.
