Combinations is a daily word puzzle game Players create meaningful words by combining letter groups on the board. Each tile has a combination of letters. Tap the tiles in the right order to make a word! For example, you can combine TO, GET and HER to make a word. The main goal of Combinations is to find all hidden words on the board and collect all 5 stars.
Combinations offers a new puzzle every day. The challenge refreshes at midnight local time. Players can also access the Archive section in the menu to replay past puzzles and view their completion progress.
In Combinations, every word must consist of at least four letters. Players must use between two and four letter combinations to form a valid word. Each combination can only be used once within a single word, though a specific combination may appear in multiple different answers.
Each letter is worth one point; a seven-letter word earns seven points. The game does not accept hyphenated words, proper nouns, profanity, or extremely obscure words.
The numbers on each tile indicate how many undiscovered words utilize that specific combination. When the number drops to zero, the tile flips over. This feature helps players track their progress and see what combinations they still need.
Combinations features a five-star system to track player achievements. The first star is awarded upon finding the initial word. Subsequent stars are unlocked when players reach 25%, 50%, and 75% of the total possible score. The final star requires finding every word in the puzzle. In addition to the standard answers, Combinations features bonus words. These are less common words that can be formed from the tiles on the board. They do not award points or affect your star rating; instead, the game tracks them separately as an extra challenge. Among them is a secret entry known as the Word of the Day.
The Hint feature highlights the specific tiles needed to form an undiscovered word. The highlighted tiles remain marked until the player finds the answer. Each puzzle includes one free hint; subsequent hints require watching a short advertisement.
The tiles are being shuffled around so players can see new combinations. Used tiles are moved to the back of the board. The game also supports keyboard controls: press Enter to submit an answer and Backspace to clear the currently selected combination.
Combinations automatically saves your progress, daily streaks, and statistics within your browser. Players can return to resume an unfinished puzzle at any time. However, clearing your browser data will reset this information.
