How to Play Dartle

In Dartle, every puzzle centers on a specific category. Each answer carries a value corresponding to its position or rank within that category. You have up to three "dart throws" to combine these values and reach a total of exactly 100.

  • Type your answer: Type your response into the search box, and select the correct answer from the list of suggestions.
  • Displays Value: Each ground displays the value of the answer you selected.
  • Score: Sum up the values and attempt to get 100 on your three tries.
  • Choose when to quit: After any throw, you can elect to stand and lock your current total in.

For example, if all you have are U.S. Presidents by term, you would score George Washington (1st) as one point, Abraham Lincoln (16th) as 16 points, and Barack Obama (44th) as 44 points. Adding these three together would be 61 points, so just keep working with that 100 point goal to find the right combination!

Tips for Mastering Dartle Puzzles

  • To win at Dartle, you must use your knowledge and a good strategy. Bear in mind that every answer comes with a score toward your final score, so don't just choose one off hand.
  • Start by selecting answers that will get your total closer to 100.
  • Before you toss that next dart, consider this.
  • Get out while you have the edge on them.
  • So remember, busting is when you go over 100 points and you receive 0.

In some puzzles, you may have a chance to recover via a special throw: if you can find an answer with a value that brings your total to exactly 100, you win, even if you had previously exceeded the limit.
