Squaredle is a word puzzle game where you must find all the hidden words on a square grid. You can spell words by linking letters in any direction. Every word you find will cause the corresponding tiles to slowly disappear. The goal is to find enough words to clear the whole board.
Longer words score you more points and get you closer to perk milestones. So not only do you find a lot of words, but if you see long words, it directly impacts your progress.
Examine the grid and look for letters that can form words. You can connect them in any direction—not just horizontally or vertically.
When you find a word, connect the letters in sequence and submit your answer. If the word is in the word list, the tiles used will begin to fade out. A tile can belong to more than one word, so watch out that you do not use a letter more than once. If you have difficulty seeing the grid from some angle, tap the rotate icon to rotate the board and find new connection opportunities.
The Squaredle progress bar features three notable milestones. Reaching the first star reveals how many words begin with a specific letter. The second star indicates how many words utilize each individual tile.
Reaching the third star unlocks hints within the word list. This information is particularly useful when many tiles remain on the board and you aren't sure which area to focus on first. The globe icon displays the current average score among players. You can use this figure to see how your performance compares to others who have played the day's puzzle.
Squaredle also supports physical keyboards. Type letters to form words, press Enter to submit, and use Backspace to delete.
A handy feature is that the Space bar allows you to toggle between grid cells containing the same letter. This makes keyboard input easier to manage when the grid contains multiple instances of the same letter.
Squaredle’s word list has some limitations; capitalized words or hyphenated words are generally not accepted. The game also features bonus words, including rare, archaic, or slang terms. These do not count toward your main score but appear as +1 entries in the word counter.
A new puzzle appears daily at 3:00 AM US Pacific Time. Difficulty varies by day: Mondays are the easiest, Fridays are the hardest, Saturdays feature unique variations, and Sundays offer a large number of words. There is also a daily 3x3 Express puzzle.
