Tuble

Tuble is a location-guessing game designed for those familiar with the London Underground map. Your mission is to identify a specific secret Underground station. The game doesn't require you to memorize the entire network, but knowing station locations certainly helps.

How to play Tuble

Guessing the Underground station

In each turn, you select a station you think might be the answer. Tuble then tells you how many stops away your chosen station is from the target. This information helps you gauge distance and direction.

For example, if a station is four stops away from the answer, try another station to the east or west. Each new guess narrows down the search area.

The game also displays the station's zone. The London Underground is divided into various zones; this information can help you rule out certain options, though it isn't always enough to pinpoint the answer on its own.

The map is part of the game

Tuble features a London Underground map at the bottom of the screen. You can use it to see where the stations are and how they connect to each other.

But if you want to make it a challenge, you can limit how much you look at the map. This means that the game is a challenge of your memory of train lines and order of stations.

What makes Tuble challenging?

Remembering lines isn't always enough

One interesting aspect of Tuble is that a single station can appear on multiple lines. You might remember the station's name but mistake which line it belongs to.

During a game, a player might assume Green Park is on the Piccadilly line and look for the next station in that direction, only to find the actual answer is on the Jubilee line. A small error like that can completely throw off subsequent guesses.

The more you play, the more you want to try again

Tuble has fairly simple rules. The difficulty is in remembering the train network and working out what the clues mean that you get after each guess. Usually you can spot familiar stations easily, but might have to look closely at the map to find those in less familiar areas.

Tuble is perfect for geography and map fans as well as deductive puzzle lovers. You can also play back the game to see if you can get the answer in fewer guesses.
