For those of you who enjoy digging a little deeper for more obscure answers, Seldom is a word trivia game. The twist is you're not trying to find the most popular or obvious answer in the game. Instead, your goal is to come up with an answer that few others would think of, while still remaining relevant to the question.
Each Seldom challenge has a theme. You receive five different answers and five different guesses. Then the game determines the popularity of an answer by asking (in the game) what 100 people would guess. The lower your total score, the better your performance.

Seldom uses a scale from 0 to 100 for each answer. This number represents how many people out of a group of 100 would recognize or consider that answer an obvious choice.
For example, if the question is Name a fruit, you might receive the following results: Apple is a very common choice, earning 95 points. Kiwi is less common, receiving 32 points. Lychee scores 5 points, while Rambutan earns 0 points, as virtually no one in the survey group thought of it.
Once five rounds are over, Seldom will tally all your answers and provide your score. You want to keep this sum as low as possible.
For instance, if the player scores 8, 12, 5, 20, and 0 on your 5 answers, then you'd have 45 points. Another player may have answers worth 65, 40, 30, 15, and 10 points for a total of 160. In this case, a score of 45 is significantly better.
The answers that pop into your head first are often the same ones that occur to many other people. Take a few extra seconds to think of something less obvious. I mean, if it was, like, a series of horror flicks with 3+ entries, then it could be Phantasm or Puppet Master or Wishmaster instead of Saw or Scream.
An interesting aspect of Seldom is the influence of cultural and geographical differences. Foods, fruits, or landmarks that are well-known in Vietnam might be unfamiliar to people elsewhere, this is a great opportunity to secure a low-scoring (rare) answer.
If you can’t quite recall an answer, you can select Reveal more to uncover additional letters. While this makes it easier to identify the term, each use typically adds a penalty of about 10 to 13 points to your final score. Therefore, try to rely on your own knowledge first before resorting to hints.
Seldom doesn’t just test how many answers you know; it also challenges your ability to anticipate what others might be thinking. A choice that seems perfectly ordinary to you might, in fact, be a rare answer among the broader group of players. Check out the puzzle game Minecraftle if you enjoy both Minecraft and Wordle.
